The Hillco AFS Corn Screen - What is it?
The Hillco Combine Air Flow System, built for Case Flagship Combines, has proven to be reliable in dusty
and dirty conditions. It works by discharging the dirty air through the precleaner top, leaving cleaner air
to be drawn into the engine. This simple but effective design allows farmers to extend the life of their air
filters, reduce downtime, and increase their engine life among many other things.
Because the Hillco team is always looking at ways to improve the design of its products, we have now
expanded our product line to include “corn screens” that work in conjunction with the precleaner to
improve the air flow system’s performance when harvesting dry corn. This new screen has eliminated
the problem of husks and leaves plugging the precleaner when cutting corn in dry conditions.
HOW IT WORKS:
The corn screen is mounted to the base of the air flow system precleaner where the air is being drawn
in. This screen increases the amount of surface area for the precleaner to pull from, preventing debris
buildup which can cause precleaner plugging. Overall, the corn screen acts as an extra layer of
protection to ensure your Air Flow System can function to the best of its ability.
If you are purchasing a Hillco Air Flow System for your Case Flagship Combine and will be harvesting
corn, it is STRONGLY recommended that you purchase the AFS kit that comes with a corn screen to
ensure better performance of your precleaner, giving you the best bang for your buck. However, if you
do not have corn as part of your rotation, then the Air Flow System kit without the corn screen would be
a great fit for you!
