As the Wrap Twine Remover continues its advance in the market, we strive to continuously address commonly asked questions.

  • Yes, but only if the ends are exposed. If the bale is completely wrapped with silage wrap, then it will not operate as the ends are not exposed. A common size of silage bale we see is a 4x4 bale. This is a limiting factor for the WTR as we are not able to accommodate bales this small.
  • The WTR will easily accommodate large round or square bales with a depth of 48” to 60.”
  • WTR410 – Designed for 4’ deep round bales and 4’ large square bales.
  • WTR510 – Designed for 5’ deep round bales.

The WTR boasts a 3000lb handling capacity.

Reduction in Machine Harvested Yield (bu/acre)

Estimate the reduction of Machine Harvested Yield (MHY) for each slope range if you were harvesting at the speed you entered for 0-3% slopes. (The calcultor will then project expected reductions in MHY for each slope range at your previously estimated ground speeds.)

You may opt to enter the test data which was determined by actual field testing by Hillco (based on 5 mph harvesting speed).

Reduction in MHY is used in these calculations rather than field loss. Reduction in MHY is a more accurate guage of combine harvesting efficiency because it can be determined by actually weighing the harvested yield rather than estimating the amount of yield lost to the ground.
