In a bustling high school gymnasium filled with anticipation and opportunity, students from across our community had the opportunity to explore potential career paths with local businesses.
The occasion?
Kamiah High School’s first Job Fair!
The occasion included 11 different schools from our beloved community: Kamiah, Clearwater Valley, Grangeville, Prairie, Nezperce, Highland, Culdesac, Lapwai, Orofino, Timberline, and the Idaho Youth Challenge Academy.
This brought together a diverse array of local vendors, and Hillco Technologies was a proud participant! From small businesses to larger corporations, it showcased the breadth and depth of opportunities available right in our own backyard.
One of the most striking aspects of this job fair was its focus on inclusivity and accessibility. Whether students were considering traditional career paths, exploring entrepreneurship, or seeking alternative options like apprenticeships or internships, there was something for everyone. Hillco and other local organizations were stationed at the ready to provide insights and advice. A common goal was to show students that you don’t necessarily need a bachelor’s degree, or to relocate, to make a living.
From interactive demonstrations to informal chats, indoor and outdoor, the event sparked curiosity in young minds. Whether chatting with representatives from their favorite companies or engaging with entrepreneurs who had once been in their shoes, students gained invaluable insights otherwise unavailable in the classroom. In fact, some staff even joined the procession, engaging vendors with countless questions.
This job fair was an opportunity to give back to our community and invest in its future by sharing expertise, offering guidance, and opening doors to potential talent. We feel that all vendors played a vital role in shaping the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
In the end, the success of Kamiah High School’s Job Fair wasn’t just measured in the number of contacts exchanged. It was defined by the spark of inspiration ignited in those young minds, the connections reinforced between our community members, and the promise of a brighter future.
